From Lucerne to all of Switzerland

What began as a regional specialty retailer for catering and hotel supplies is now a well-established full-service provider for professional kitchens, hotels, restaurants, and institutional food service throughout Switzerland. Three generations, one conviction: close ties to the food service industry, a wide product range, and personalized advice.

The hulu cutlery holder – an invention for the world

In 1967, Bruno Hunkeler developed the hulu cutlery holder. This in-house innovation set international standards and made the name Hunkeler famous far beyond Switzerland. In 1972 and 1980, the company supplied products to the Olympic Games.

Innovation as a Constant

In 1984, the first specialty catalog for the restaurant and hospitality industries was published. In 1998, Bruno Hunkeler took over the company and consistently drove the development of new in-house products. In 2012, the first online store was launched—a milestone in providing our customers with the ability to place orders digitally.

Growth Through Strong Partnerships

Strategic acquisitions such as those of Buchecker AG (2008) and Sternegg AG (2012) have specifically strengthened our product range and market presence. With exclusive brands such as Figgjo and Steelite, we now offer products that are highly regarded in the professional foodservice industry worldwide.
