Creativity at the highest level

The competition provides a platform for students and professional chefs to showcase the versatility and creativity of HUG tartlets. The participants impressed the judges with their innovative creations, beautiful presentations, and surprising flavor combinations.

The 2025 Winners

The jury selected two outstanding winners:

  • Vivien Burkhard (Apprentice category, Schüpbärg-Beizli, Schüpfen)
  • Yannik Wagner (Apprentice Category, Solina Brickworks, Steffisburg)

Both winners will receive a culinary experience in the Netherlands. We are particularly pleased that Yannik Wagner presented his award-winning creation on a Premiostar Element plate. 👏

Firsthand insights: Interview with Janis Loretan, 2nd-place winner in the Apprentice category

Janis Loretan, a contestant in the competition, also shares his experience:"How did you feel when your name was called during the finals?" "When my name was called, I was super excited and eager. I was super happy.”

What inspired your creation?”The combination of my home canton of Valais and the canton where I’m training, Bern, really inspired me. I also drew on my childhood memories—from experiences with my grandparents to my favorite fruit.”

How was the preparation for the competition?"The preparation was definitely exhausting, but very exciting. I was able to improve a lot in many areas. This progress will certainly help me in future competitions."

Why did you decide to stop by the Gastroimpuls showroom to select your products?"To hold the products in my hands and get a better idea of them."

What did you particularly like about the selection process or the consultation?The wide range of products and Mario’s professional advice were a huge help to me.

What advice would you give to other students who want to participate in the next HUG Contest? “Just get started, have fun, and give it your best. It also helps to always think outside the box a little.”
